Principal’s Message

"During the month of February, our students will focus on the Catholic virtue of "friendship".
Friendship is the warm feeling between two or more people. It means to show love, care, respect, and kindness towards others.

In the Bible, Jesus told his disciples "...I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father." ( John 15:15)

Walkathon Success

On Friday, January 30th the St. Hugh students participated in a school-wide health and fitness festival in conjunction to the annual walkathon. The goal of the “Let’s Get Moving” fitness fest was to motivate the children to get outside, get active, be healthy, and be happy. Children enjoyed different interactive stations featuring rock climbing, yoga, boot camp,  Crossfit, Zumba, jogging, a Battlefrog obstacle course, and more. Students also learned how to make healthy snacks from Cathy Clark Reyes, a Baptist Health nutritionist and a St. Hugh alumna.

We want to thank the generous health and fitness vendors, amazing volunteers, dedicated HRPA members and everyone involved. The “Let’s Get Moving” festival and walkathon was a huge success raising over $11,500.

Special thanks to the following vendors:  Peak 360 Crossfit, Red Bike, Battlefrog Race Series, Fit Trip Miami, Baptist Health South Florida and Zumbatomic.

Penny Wars

Recently St. Hugh students held a "penny war" to raise money for the Grove Outreach. Each classroom had their own collection jar where students could deposit their pennies worth one positive point each.

Non-pennies were used to take away points from another classroom of their choice. Each silver coin or bill reduced the number of points by the amount of the coin. The goal was to collect as many points as possible.

The results are in and as a school we raised $2008.50 to benefit the Grove Outreach.

Family Fun Day

St. Hugh Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, February 21st from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at St. Hugh School. There will be a basketball tournament for adults and teens, lots of amusement rides for everyone, face painting, food trucks, the Scholastic Book Fair, several local vendors showcasing their products and much more.

It promises to be a fun filled day!! We encourage everyone to attend this great event that brings families and friends together for a fantastic day of games and fun at St. Hugh.
