Principal’s Message

This month the students, faculty, and staff of St. Hugh Catholic School will learn about the Catholic virtue of service.

Service is providing useful assistance or contributing to the welfare of another. Jesus called us to be of service to one another.

During this month while we celebrate Thanksgiving  with our families, let us remember those that need our service. As students, parents, faculty, and staff we will be providing those in need with our time, talent, and treasures.

Recently four of our fifth grade students participated in the 7th Annual ISSF Spelling Bee held at the Coral Gables Women’s Club. They competed against 22 other schools and scored very well. Representing our school were: Margaux Courtney, Athena Pacanins, Andrea Altamirano and Isabella Goyanes. Thank you girls for your hard work.

Girls Win Box Tops Challenge

The first Box Tops Challenge for the school year is over. It was a boys versus girls challenge. We are happy to announce that the winners are the girls. The girls clipped and brought to school 1,536 Box Tops. The boys trailed behind with 1,384 Box Tops. The total amount of money raised for the school is $292.00! As a reward for winning the challenge the girls were awarded with their very own dress down day. Thank you to all the students who participated.

Keep the Box Tops coming in! We will be submitting again in late February.

Court of Dreams

On November 12th, the boys’ JV and Varsity basketball teams had a wonderful experience of competing against St. Agnes Catholic School on the Miami HEAT court. The game was played at the American Airlines Arena prior to the Miami HEAT vs Indiana PACERS game. This was a unique experience that allowed our athletes a chance to share the court with NBA legends and have an experience that will last a lifetime.  Our St. Hugh hip hop dancers also participated during this event by entertaining the spectators during half-time. We are very proud of all the students who participated at this event.
