Principal’s Message

This month the students of our school will focus on the Catholic virtue of "reflection".

Reflection is the capacity to contemplate the experiences of life and, through the cultivation of spiritual practices, to discern God's will for us. In the Bible we read, "As I gazed at it, I reflected; I saw and learned a lesson" These words remind us of the importance of watching and listening so we will become more aware of God's presence in our lives.

Please note that the PK3, PK4 and Kindergarten classes for the 2015-2016 school year are now full. We will no longer be accepting applications for these classes.

Drama Competition Winners

St. Hugh Catholic School recently competed in the drama division of the Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition. Students were asked to select and memorize an excerpt from a play, dramatic literary work or an anthology of monologues and develop it into an audition piece to be performed in front of the judges. It is with great pride that we announce that all three students that participated won first place in the solo monologues category. Our winning students were as follows:

  • Isabella De Sousa: "I'm the Greatest Star" from Funny Girl
  • Valeria Bigott: "Queendom" from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown
  • Alexandro Garces: "Marc Antony's Speech" from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

Congratulations to our talented students and to our wonderful music teacher, Ms. Gentzschein who helped them prepare for the competition.
