Principal’s Message

Happy New Year...

During the month of January, the students of St. Hugh School will learn about the Catholic Virtue of "PEACE".

PEACE is a state of harmony which results from justice. It is the sign of love in action, offering the freedom that comes from trusting God and respecting all people.

Walkathon and Fitness Festival

On Friday, January 30th,  St. Hugh students will be participating in the annual walkathon and  fitness festival.  Students will have the opportunity to try different exercises and learn about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle while helping raise money for St. Hugh. Some of the activities planned for the day include yoga, rock climbing, Zumba, bootcamp, Crossfit and an obstacle course designed by the U.S. Navy SEALS.

The goal this year is for each student to raise $50. Corporate and individual donations are greatly appreciated. With support from the community we hope to meet our goal. If you would like to sponsor the event, please contact the school office at 305-448-5602.

Parent & Staff Appreciation Day

We would like to take some time during Catholic School’s Week to thank those who make St. Hugh School such a special place to be.

Parents are invited to join us for Parent and Staff Appreciation Day on Thursday, January 29th.

A barista from Aroma Espresso will be present at school from 7:30 am to 9:30 am to serve up your favorite coffee drink.

St. Hugh Students Help Spread Warmth

Thank you to all who donated sweaters and blankets for the school’s drive to help the homeless in our community. It was a very successful drive collecting many new and gently used items right in time for the recent cold weather in Miami.

The eighth grade students delivered the donations to the Missionaries of Charity, a center that cares for the poorest of poor in Miami’s inner city by providing daily lunches, clothing , and emergency shelter for women and children.  During their visit, the students helped serve lunch in the soup kitchen.  It was a very memorable experience for these students as they put their faith into action and helped make a difference in the community.
